2. Pre-Operative Preparation (Weeks 1–4)
Choose a surgery date and complete required labs or medical clearances.
Stop smoking and certain medications (blood thinners, supplements) as advised.
Receive pre-op instructions, including fasting guidelines and what to bring on surgery day.
Arrange for transportation and a caregiver for the first 24–48 hours post-surgery.
3. Surgery Day (Week 4–5)
Arrive at the surgery center on time, having followed all pre-op instructions.
You’ll meet your surgical team, review your plan, and be prepped for anesthesia.
Surgery typically lasts 1–2 hours.
You’ll recover in a monitored recovery area and be discharged once stable—same day in most cases.
4. Immediate Recovery (Days 1–7)
Expect swelling, tightness, and soreness. Pain is manageable with prescribed medication.
Limit movement, avoid lifting, and sleep on your back.
You’ll wear a surgical bra for support.
First follow-up visit usually occurs within 5–7 days to assess healing and remove dressings or sutures if needed.
5. Early Recovery (Weeks 2–6)
Swelling begins to subside, and implants start to settle ("drop and fluff").
Light activity is okay; avoid strenuous exercise or lifting over 10 lbs.
You may return to desk work after 1 week, depending on your procedure and comfort.
Continued follow-up appointments to monitor healing and answer questions.
6. Long-Term Recovery & Results (Months 2–6)
Final results continue to develop as swelling fully resolves and scars mature.
Scars may appear red or raised at first but will fade over time with proper care.
Implant settling completes around 3–6 months.
Annual follow-ups or periodic check-ins are encouraged.
